On the popular forum website Reddit, a user by the name of excellent_hug asked the question below:
And here are some of the best advice that the parents on Reddit gave:
1.Get a babysitter
For some parents, hiring a babysitter to take care of the kids, so that they can rest and have some time for themselves is a great idea. Of course, it’s just as important to choose the right babysitter, someone whom you can trust, and someone that you can depend on to take care of your child.
2. Let your child adapt to being without you
Now, this solution is one that works well for kids who are a bit too clingy. It’s important for your child to get used to being without you as they grow older, but you can’t always just start leaving them with a babysitter and be done with it.
You can help them slowly transition by training them to be with one parent at a time, and then if you think they’re ready, they can stay with a babysitter all by themselves.
3. “It will get better”
This one’s pretty great advice. Your child will eventually get used to having other people take care of them, so don’t fret if your child cries or seems upset that you’re not there to take care of them. Just give it time, and your child will get used to having someone else take care of them.
It really does get better.
4. It’s best to do it sooner rather than later
It’s true, when it comes to getting your child used to things like this, it’s better to start them young instead of do it when they’re older. That way, they have enough time to get used to the swing of things. It’s also good for your marriage since as much as you love your child, you still need to work on your relationship and spend a few romantic moments together.
5. It’s nothing to worry about
It’s normal for kids to have separation anxiety whenever one or both of their parents leave; it’s nothing to worry about! Just make sure that you’re taking it slow, and making sure that your child slowly gets used to the idea of having a babysitter with them, and without you around.
