Maria simply wanted to show her support for Normalize Breastfeeding movement when she posted on her Facebook page a photo of her feeding her daughter.
“I am not typically one to ever do this as I am very private when nursing, but with all this nonsense about people bashing other mothers for nursing, I decided to post this,” she captioned the photo.
“You can’t see much, but why do people get so worked up about this? Normalize breastfeeding! It’s nature! It’s what boobies are for!”
She expected many breastfeeding mothers to side with her, what she didn’t expect was the backlash she soon started receiving.

Her innocuous photo had been reported more than five times for being inappropriate.
In response, she uploaded another photo of her. But this time, her breasts are covered by a photo of a Victoria’s Secret poster showing model Candice Swanepoel in lingerie, smiling coyly at the camera.
“I bet this won’t be reported, because you can see this picture in every mall you step into, huge and blown up outside the store,” she said.
“This is not frowned upon, or ever reported, as it is seen everywhere. But a women nurturing and feeding their baby is looked down on.”
Maria also said that people who think breastfeeding is disgusting, or people who look at breastfeeding sexually is a pedophile for even thinking of it in that way.
She also said that breastfeeding is natural, and that that is what breasts are for.

“In America, people have so much negative things to say about it! I’m done with this stupid nonsense.”
At the caption, Maria urged other mothers to post breastfeeding photos of them on the comment sections. Now it’s filled with breastfeeding photos of mothers all over America.
“I can’t believe how much backlash my photo got, but more importantly I got tons of support and I thank you all. And again, BREAST IS BEST!”
Her Facebook post has received almost 40 thousand likes, and has been shared more than seven thousand times.
So since my breastfeeding photo which showed NOTHING got reported more than FIVE times, I’m posting this. I bet this won… Posted by Maria Corry on Thursday, February 18, 2016
