Shocking news: Grade 5 student gives birth to baby boy in Aklan

Netizens across the country are in shock after the headline "Grade 5 student gives birth to baby boy" went viral on several news and social media sites.

According to abs-cbnnews.com, a Grade 5 student from Kalibo, Aklan gave birth to a premature baby boy last November 3, 2014. The report says that the girl’s family had no idea that she was pregnant and thought that she was just gaining weight. It was only when the girl began complaining of severe stomach aches did the family take her to a faith healer. The faith healer claimed that she had a tumor, but it was later confirmed at the hospital that the girl was 8 months pregnant.

The baby is currently confined at Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital because it was born premature. On the other hand, the Kalibo police women and children’s protection desk is conducting an investigation to help identify the father of the child.
