Stevie Nicholson may have left Hi-5 but he’s still in the business of entertaining and educating children. He and illustrator Nick Rudich just launched a new children’s book called Superdudes.

According to its website, Superdudes is “based on the philosophy that absolutely anyone and anything can be super.” That means, your child can be super too! The message invites children to realize that they don’t have to wait to grow up to be superheroes – being themselves, being kind and helpful, already makes them super.

The world premiere of Superdudes was held in Manila last Easter Sunday. When they were asked why they chose the Philippines first, Stevie shared,

“I just love coming here and the reception has always been tremendous. I have a really lovely relationship with the Filipino people so there is no other place in the world I could think of to launch Superdudes than right here.”

In fact, they’re still touring around the country to introduce the book to more Filipino children!

Here they are inviting you to one of their upcoming events

  • April 8 (Friday) at 5pm in SM Jazz
  • April 9 (Saturday) at 3pm and 5pm in SM Megamall
  • April 15 (Friday) at 5pm in SM Light
  • April 16 (Saturday) at 1:30pm, 3:30pm and 5:30pm in Century Mall
  • April 17 (Sunday) at 4pm and 6pm in SM Iloilo

The shows will feature Super Stevie and his Superdudes Bubble Trouble, Flutterby and Pencil Pirate.

At SM venues, guests can expect a book reading followed by a 25-minute show and a meet-and-greet. Each location has its own mechanics.

At SM Megamall, present a P1,500 single receipt issued between April 1-9 from any of its stores at the redemption booth located on the 2nd floor of the Mega Fashion Hall.

For Century Mall, there will be a 15-minute show and a special drawing workshop where kids will learn to draw their own Superdudes. You may purchase your ticket from the mall’s concierge or TicketWorld. Each ticket costs P1,500 and is valid for one adult and one child. It also includes a P1,500 gift certificate that you may use in any of its stores (like Fully Booked where you can grab a copy of the book).

Those who can’t watch the show can buy Superdudes from Fully Booked branches for P700. Definitely a great investment for children (and adults) who need a gentle reminder of how super they are!
