I’m pregnant August 2018 and delivered my baby June 9, 2019. When my pregnancy was announced in the family I started hearing so many superstition beliefs from my love ones,

Filipino called “pamahiin”.

Some of the superstition are harmless and honestly I followed some of them to also respect my love ones suggestions.

Here are some superstition that I encountered while I’m pregnant.

1. Cravings will affect the appearance of my baby. Filipino called this “paglilihi” (For example if I crave and ate chocolate my baby’s skin will have dark color or I ate pink and red fruits my baby will have rosy skin) when I’m pregnant I always ate light color food because I want my baby to have light complexion.

2. Spots and dark areas on the body, the baby will be a boy and if you look beautiful while pregnant it will be a girl. Most of the time I feel conscious about my appearance while my baby is continue growing inside my belly. I experience dark spots in my neck, underarm and underneath my legs. Some of my friends and relatives think that my baby will be a boy. But na-ahh because she is a “she” a beautiful little girl 👧

3. Eating twin banana will have chances of having a twins! Well I’m gonna say that I want to have twins one girl and one boy. actually I have an instance that I ate twin bananas when my father bought some. I check it instantly and I ate them, obviously my mom didn’t saw it 😂

4. Avoid wearing necklaces. If pregnant women wears accessories around the neck, will cause the umbilical cord to wrap around the baby’s neck. One time my mom told me this and very shocked..I’m very kikay since my teenager, but luckily until I knew that I’m pregnant I never wear accessories in the neck because I felt that part of my body is too hot and sweaty.
