Family travel destinations: Baguio during the Panagbenga Festival

2 min read

If your family is looking to get out of the city for a great vacation, why not try going to Baguio for the upcoming Panagbenga Festival?

What is the Panagbenga Festival?

The Panagbenga Festival or the Baguio Flower Festival is a yearly festival that’s held in Baguio City every February.

The festival’s name comes from the word “panagbenga” which is a kankanaey term that means “season of blooming.” The festival showcases the talents, history, and heritage of Baguio, and it’s an amazing experience for both locals and visitors alike.

For Manileños who are planning to go to Baguio for the festival, travel is relatively straightforward. Families can go to Baguio by car, or by taking a bus that goes from Cubao directly to Baguio.

Accommodations are another thing however as vacancies can be difficult to find if you didn’t book them in advance. Thankfully, it’s relatively easy to call in for a reservation to make your entire stay much less of a hassle.

One great thing about Baguio is that there’s always an abundance of amazing food and great places to eat. You will be spoiled for choice.

And if you’re taking your kids to the festival, make sure that you’re prepared for any sudden changes in weather. Bring lots of water, a change of clothes, and medicine for your kids in case they feel woozy or tired because of the crowd.

Baguio City is also relatively safe, but it’s still a good idea to keep an eye on your belongings as much as possible.

So if you’re looking for a great vacation destination, why not try going to Baguio during the Panagbenga Festival? We’re sure that your family will have an amazing time. It’ll surely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
