You might remember a story we had about an abandoned newborn in Malaysia. A woman, now identified as his mother, allegedly threw her newborn baby off a building. Amazingly, this unwanted newborn has survived, and is currently in a critical, but stable condition.
Officials have also learned more about the woman deemed as the child’s mother and the suspect.
The Unwanted Newborn Is Stable, but Still in a Critical State
According to Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah, “The baby is receiving treatment at Kajang Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.”
He adds that the child is in a critical, but stable condition.
Meanwhile, the child’s mom, is currently under police custody. Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail shares that the child’s mom is from Indonesia.
“She is a foreigner who came here and was caught in a situation where she delivered the baby herself.
“We still need to help the baby and mother, and the baby is innocent.
“He will be put up for adoption if he survives,” she shared in a statement to reporters.
We look forward to hearing about the child’s continued recovery, and we’re hopeful that this little one is adopted into a loving and caring family.
