While there’s nothing totally wrong with being in love with someone, sometimes it can be problematic.
Your self-worth shouldn’t depend on your partner
Some people think that their self-worth is solely dictated by their marriage. Yes, marriage is important, but a person’s self-worth shouldn’t solely depend on it.
These are cases wherein the person in the relationship stops being an individual and solely depends on their marriage for affirmation. This can be problematic since what’s going to happen if they have a big argument? Fights and misunderstandings can have a devastating effect on people in these types of relationships.
Additionally, they post a lot of photos on social media since they’re looking towards other people to validate their self-worth, which shouldn’t be the case in a marriage.
It’s important for married couples to have interests of their own and to be individuals themselves. Being independent can actually strengthen your bond since you’re not in a codependent relationship.
Sometimes, it’s to make other people jealous
There are also cases of people showing off on social media in order to make other people jealous.
Maybe they’re proud of their marriage and their family, but there’s a fine line between pride and being boastful. If you find yourself posting photos on Facebook because you want to make someone else feel bad, then that’s not a good thing to do.
Sometimes people brag on social media because they’re dissatisfied with something in their marriage, so they post positive things on Facebook in order to make themselves feel better when people compliment them.
What’s healthy when it comes to social media?
Sometimes, posting happy photos of you and your spouse on Facebook can just mean that, you’re happy with your marriage and you want to tell and show everyone just how happy you are.
There’s nothing wrong with posting photos of your family or you and your spouse going on a date, just so long as you do it in moderation and you do it because you want to share the happiness that you have with other people.
The most important thing is that you’re doing it for the right reason, which is to share your happiness and show that you genuinely feel #blessed in your marriage and in your family.
