Wife finds husband dead on sofa after having heated argument

Wife finds husband dead on sofa after having heated argument

A mother of three has suffered an enormous tragedy after her husband died after she asked him to sleep on the sofa because of an argument.

Ashley Murrell, 33, was absolutely devastated when she found that her husband, Mikey, had passed away after she asked him to sleep on the sofa because of an unresolved argument they had the night before.

They fought because he was working too hard

According to Ashley, they had an argument right after her husband came home from working a 16-hour shift as a carpet cleaner. The couple fought because Ashley felt that Mikey was working too hard, and she was worried that he might exhaust himself because of the long hours.

When they failed to resolve their argument, she asked him to sleep on the couch.

However, tragedy struck when she discovered in the morning that her husband had passed away in the night.

The worst part? She found out that the reason why her husband was working so hard was because he was saving up money to take her on a vacation for their anniversary.

"I really just wanted him around more"

She shares, "Mikey was so caring, if he walked into a room and saw someone unhappy he would be the first person there trying to cheer them up.

“He absolutely loved his family. He wanted his kids to have all the things in life that he didn’t and he worked so hard to make that happen. He would work 16-hour shifts, seven days a week just so he could save up enough to take us all to Disney every year. He was so worn out but he would do anything just to see us smile."

“But the hours he was working were just getting too much. He was so exhausted all the time and he was running himself into the ground and his health was going downhill fast."

“When he came home that night he was a mess, I have never seen him so exhausted. I couldn’t stand seeing him like that and I got angry. I was sick of it."

“I had a go at him and told him to sleep on the sofa which was stupid because I really just wanted him around more.”

She goes on, "I felt so guilty. I was so angry with myself for making him sleep on the sofa. I still find it so hard to think that my last words to him were out of anger.

“When I found out he’d been saving to take us on an anniversary holiday it was awful – heartbreaking doesn’t begin to cover it."

According to the autopsy report, her husband choked to death in his sleep, but the results are still inconclusive.

This sad story should serve as a reminder to all couples to try and resolve all of their differences, and do their best not to leave any problems or arguments unresolved, as well as to always treat each other with love and respect.
