On May 2, 2015, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge was rushed to the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital after going into labor. No more than 3 hours later, the Royal princess was born at a healthy 8lbs. 3 oz.
The birth was officially announced via Kensington Palace’s website informing the public that the new Royal was a girl and via a town crier outside the Lindo Wing. Two footmen also placed the official declaration of the baby’s birth on an easel outside Buckingham Palace.
A few hours later, William, the Duke of Cambridge, left Lindo Wing to fetch Prince George from Kensington Palace to see his baby sister. Which was then followed by the Royal princess’ first photocall, a mere 11 hours or so after her birth.
The Royal family has since left St. Mary’s hospital and returned to Kensington Palace.
