The goal of the run is to raise money to build wash facilities, the focus is not only on providing clean water but for sanitation purposes as well.
Making clean water accessible for everyone, is one of World Vision’s main. This is to raise money for those areas that don’t have access or have trouble accessing clean water. These are areas that they consider isolated or geographically disadvantaged.
World Vision said that the average range that people walked is 6k just for water and not even clean water.
According to the research that they have done, 27.2 million families in the country still don’t have access to clean water or have trouble accessing clean and safe water.
World Vision currently has 28 area programs in the Philippines and with the help of this year’s Global 6k for Water, they can add more to the program.
They want to reach other areas as well, they want to reach more communities.
