#AmbagKo urges eligible voters to register as deadline looms

#AmbagKo urges and encourages everyone to register now for the upcoming national elections next year, as deadline is approaching.

With only 30 days left until the September 30 voters’ registration deadline, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines, the first nationally organized leadership development organization in Asia, calls on the youth and all eligible voters to register for the 2022 polls.

The next 30 days will be very critical to the turnout of the electoral process. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) said it has 61.06 million registered voters. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data shows there are still 13 million potential voters who remain unregistered.[1]

The youth, being one of the largest voting blocs, “can literally dictate the shape of the government, said COMELEC Spokesperson James Jimenez during the Ambagan ng Bayan Facebook live session. Jimenez also pointed out that with the idealism, passion to get socially involved and voting power of the Filipino youth, they can take the lead in improving the nation.

Watch the session here:

With ECQ and MECQ restrictions affecting the on-site registration process, JCI is boosting its digital initiatives to reach out to more Filipinos. JCI will hold an Emerging Leaders leadership training. Besides its ongoing Facebook live talks that focus on pressing issues, JCI is set to launch more interactive online activities, contests and raffles.

Registration hours have been extended and will now run from 8:00AM to 7:00PM from Mondays to Fridays, and 8:00AM to 5:00PM on Saturdays and holidays. Visit comelec.gov.ph for online registration guide and check out this link to confirm COMELEC’s latest satellite registration schedule.
