Just after her recent twitter war with ex-boyfriend Jake Ejercito, Andi Eigenmann has opened up about his relationship with her daughter.
Anyone who’s followed either of them on Instagram will be well aware of Jake’s adorable closeness with Andi’s 4-year-old daughter, Ellie.
“Ellie’s relationship with Jake is outside of mine,” she told PEP in a recent interview for her latest flick, Camp Sawi. “Just because our relationship didn’t end on good terms doesn’t mean that I have to hinder my daughter from being around people who didn’t do anything bad to her naman. It’s a normal thing for me.”
A week ago, Jake shared a snippet of his video chat with Ellie on his Instagram account.

Though it’s natural to worry that their set up might be confusing for a four-year-old, Andi is confident that Ellie’s awareness of difficult situations is well beyond her years.
She’s also well aware that life isn’t without heartache and so, as early as now, she wants to prepare Ellie for the “harsh realities of life.”
“So siguro, the most that I could do is make sure that I show Ellie, I will raise Ellie, knowing that I’m here,” shared Andi. “As much as I’m her mother, I’m also her friend, but I understand that when she becomes a teenager, she gets her heart broken, she won’t go to me for every thing.

“But I know, I’m going to raise my daughter always finding a way to be able to tell her the truth.”
As for her parenting style, Andi says they’re just like “magkabarkada”.”Kahit alam niya na nanay niya ako and takot siya sa akin kapag nagagalit ako o may nagagawa siyang mali, alam niya rin na kaya kong makipaglaro sa kanya.”
As for those who are assuming that she’s not a hands-on mom because she’s so busy, she said: “Just because the person, a mother can’t be hands-on as other people can be doesn’t mean na she’s not fulfilling her job as a mother. Despite the conflict between Andi and Jake, it’s refreshing to see how mature they both are and how they remain bonded over their love for Ellie.

Ellie’s dad, actor Albie Casiño, may be out of the picture but it’s nice to see that Jake still remains to be somewhat of a second dad to her.
