Verses that affirm the Lord’s promise

Have you waited long enough for the arrival of your little one? Here’s a verse that describes how it feels to receive such a wonderful blessing:

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.

For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me,and holy is his name.” – Luke 1:47-49

“For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him.” – 1 Samuel 1:27

Those who need encouragement

As new moms, we might grow weary from everything that we need to know about being a mom, and the mental load of being pregnant. Here are some powerful words to give you strength:

“He said ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:17-18

Bearing a child is not an easy task that everyone can do. It requires determination, passion, and selfless love towards another human being.

These verses can give mommy a strong mental foundation that she can do it. God would not let you suffer unless he firmly believes that you can handle it.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”– 1 Corinthians 10:13

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

Bible verses for labor and delivery

Pregnancy is indeed a scary yet fun experience. First-time moms get a lot of anxiety over thinking about what’s going to happen during labor and giving birth to their child.

Feeling scared and anxious is normal, but remember, you shouldn’t let this rub off you ‘completely’. Ask for God’s blessing, pray about your worries and fears. He will help you have safe and sound labor.

“…and call upon me on the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” – Psalm 50:15

“The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14

“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” — Malachi 4:2

While the stages of labor and delivery can be physically exhausting, remember that you are not alone. You have the support of your partner and your family.

Your medical team will do their best to make sure everything goes well for you and your baby. If that is not enough, read these powerful verses from the Old and New Testaments to remind you that God is always by your side.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you”- Deuteronomy 31:6

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

“For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.” – Jeremiah 31:25

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” – Isaiah 43:2

“From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety.”  – Psalm 61:2

Instead of being anxious about your pregnancy, spend some quiet time reflecting on God’s faithful promises for you and your unborn baby.

“They will not labor in vain, nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them.” – Isaiah 65:23 “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.” – John 16:21
