And without the demands and distractions of school, it is definitely easier and more enjoyable for children to learn a sport, perfect a skill, enhance talent or indulge an interest.
From birth onwards, children should take part in daily physical activity that promotes health-related fitness and movement skills, advises the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.
Supplementing exercises with creative and “thinking” activities such as drawing, acting, reading, and writing will, of course, result in mens sana in corpore sano, or “a sound mind in a sound body.”
