Camille Prats shares pregnancy difficulties: "Halos hindi na ako makatayo ng kama"

The 32-year-old actress/TV host relates the struggles she went through during the first three months of her second pregnancy

With her ready smile and her bubbly demeanor, it’s tough to imagine expectant mom Camille Prats hasn’t had an easy pregnancy.

With her due date is less than two months away, the TV host/actress opened up about her difficult first trimester.

“Ang sabi naman nila, I look good daw, parang blooming daw,” Prats told PEP in an interview. “Hindi ko naman maintindihan kung saan nanggagaling yun kasi nahihirapan talaga ako.”

Her difficult first trimester

She recalled how, during the first three months, she had difficulty getting up and even, eating.

“The first three months was really, really hard. Parang halos hindi na ako makatayo ng kama, halos hindi na ako makakakain, wala na lang akong gusto maamoy, it was really hard,” lamented Prats, recalling how the smell of garlic would make her feel sick.

She also confided how she struggled with maintaining normal sleep patterns and simply staying hydrated.

“I could barely move out of bed, I could barely drink water, even water nilalabas ko, lahat ng kinakain ko nilalabas ko,” she recalls, adding how she eventually had to go to her doctor frequently due to dehydration.

Finding strength in her family

Her difficulties extended past her first trimester, but she’s thankful to have the support of her family. Nathan, her 9-year-old son with late husband Anthony Linsangan, her stepson Isaiah, and her husband VJ Yambao were all there beside her through it all.

It also possibly helped that motherhood has helped her remain thankful through life’s struggles.

In a previous interview with Philstar, she shared how being a mom changed how she viewed life: “I guess all mothers go through this process. When a baby comes out of your womb, your outlook changes, your priorities change as well and you become thankful for every blessing that comes your way.”

Taking it one day at a time, she eventually felt “like herself” again. Now, she’s looking forward to welcoming her baby girl with Yambao, with whom she tied the knot in January 2017.

A month later, they happily shared the news that they were expecting their first baby.
