Camille Prats will soon be walking down the aisle again in a few months.
The 31-year-old actress lost her husband Anthony Linsangan to throat cancer. Her seven-year-old son, Nathan, was just three years old at the time.
When the time came that she found love again, Camille approached it carefully. Knowing that Nathan, or Tantan as she fondly calls him, was still young, she first gauged whether or not he would be ready for her to start dating again.
“Actually, una, iyong sabi ko, ‘What if somebody makes ligaw Mommy?'” she recounted to entertainment website PEP at her recent bridal shower. “Sabi pa niya, ‘No! Nobody can make you ligaw, I’ll sapak him.’ So gano’n talaga sa umpisa.”
“I’m always after my son’s happiness…Kaya rin umabot sa ganito, itong relationship na ito, it’s also because of him. He’s really a big factor of it.”
“I’m always after my son’s happiness. If he’s not happy about something, hindi rin magma-materialize sa ’kin iyon. Kaya rin umabot sa ganito, itong relationship na ito, it’s also because of him. He’s really a big factor of it.”

Camille started dating her former schoolmate, VJ Yambao, two years after losing her husband. It was in 2015 when he proposed to both Camille and Nathan.
“Up until I was very sure of me and VJ, hindi ko talaga siya pinakilala kay Nathan. Talagang Tito-Tito lang. Pero nung medyo nagiging seryoso na, sinabi ko sa kanya na, ‘You know, we can only choose once,'” she recalls telling her son.
“Tito VJ really wants to be a part of us. He wants to take care of us. Is that okay with you?” she asked Tantan, who was already five years old at the time.
Wanting to spare herself and her son the heartbreak, she wanted to be 100% she chose the right man.
“Sabi ko, ‘Kasi you know what, if ever we’re going to choose someone to be a part of our lives, we can only choose once. ‘If we choose Tito VJ, he’s forever na. We cannot change him anymore, we can’t be changing daddies, you know?'” she explained to Tantan.
Finally, her son approached her and said: ‘Mommy, it’s okay na. I’m sure na talaga. I like Tito VJ na, he’s forever na. We’ll choose him na.'”
Camille and VJ will tie the knot in January 2017 at Nayomi Sanctuary Resorts in Batangas, which Camille’s family owns.
