Kung monthly checkups from 1st to 2nd trimester at mas madalas (every 2 weeks or weekly) sa 3rd trimester, aabot ng ₱10,000–₱20,000 total.

2. Prenatal Vitamins

  • Public health centers: May libreng iron, folic acid, at minsan multivitamins.

  • Private purchase (drugstores): ₱300–₱1,000 per month depende sa brand at formulation (e.g. with DHA, calcium). For 9 months, ₱2,700–₱9,000.

3. Laboratory Tests

  • Basic labs (CBC, urinalysis, blood typing, FBS, hepatitis B, HIV, VDRL, etc.):

    • Public: libre o minimal fee (₱200–₱500 total).

    • Private: ₱2,000–₱5,000 for the full panel.

  • Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) at 24–28 weeks:

    • Public: minsan libre, minsan ₱300–₱600.

    • Private: ₱800–₱1,500.

4. Ultrasounds

  • Public hospitals/clinics: ₱300–₱600 per session.

  • Private hospitals/diagnostic centers: ₱800–₱3,500 depending on type (transvaginal, 2D, 3D, 4D).

  • Typically 3–5 ultrasounds recommended, so budget ₱2,500–₱10,000.

5. Delivery Costs (Normal or C-Section)

  • Public hospital (charity ward): Libre to ₱5,000 (may PhilHealth package for maternity care).

  • Private hospital (Normal Delivery): ₱40,000–₱70,000.

  • Private hospital (C-Section): ₱80,000–₱200,000 depende sa ospital at room type.

Total Estimated Pregnancy Expenses (2025)

Kaya mahalagang magtabi ng pregnancy fund early on.

Hi, I’m Hazel Paras-Cariño—Head of Content at theAsianparent Philippines, proud mom of two, and passionate storyteller at heart. With over 11 years of experience in content strategy, digital marketing, and editorial leadership, I now lead our content across web, app, and social platforms to serve one of the most important audiences out there: Filipino parents. Whether it's creating informative articles, engaging mobile experiences, or meaningful social conversations, I believe content should connect with both data and heart.

Before this role, I worked as App Marketing Manager and Web Content Editor at theAsianparent, and previously contributed to NGOs, tech, and creative industries. I hold a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, but my real education comes from balancing deadlines, diapers, and the daily chaos of motherhood. When I’m off-duty, you’ll find me painting, dancing, or exploring imaginative stories with my kids—sometimes all at once.

Let’s keep creating content that informs, empowers, and uplifts families.
