Healthy Food for Your Child by MOM at the Legazpi Sunday Market

Find out what's in store over lunch with your happy, healthy kids this Sunday.

Spending a few hours at Mara’s Organic Market (MOM) in the Legazpi Sunday Market is fun and fulfilling for families.

It is where you get to meet up with new and old friends, jam with the mainstay musicians, eat quality homegrown food, buy organic produce for your house, and support the livelihood of local farmers at the same time.

Here’s a list of healthy food and beverages that you may make your kids happy.

  1. Grass-Fed Cow’s Greek Yogurt and Homemade Cheese by Tio Luca Artisanal Dairy

Ricotta

Yogurt and cheese are a common favourite of kids.

Good thing that there is Tio Luca Artisanal Dairy, which makes Greek Yogurt and Cheeses with certified organic grass-fed cow’s milk.

These delicious dairies are all made from home, with no preservatives, antibiotics, enhancers, sugar, powdered milk and the usual chemicals.

The Greek Yogurt is made purely with milk and live cultures, while the Cheeses are with milk and vegetal renet.

The kids love Tio Luca’s Greek Yogurt with Blueberry Jam, and with Honey, as well as all the Cheeses.

4. Wild Mushroom Soup

Soups are always a good compromise for our picky-eaters.

Thank God that there’s a vendor that sells organic mushroom soup that children can really enjoy.

Other favourites are Creamy Pumpkin Soup, Red Rice Arroz Caldo and multi-grain gourmet sandwiches.

You can find these across from Down To Earth (at the end of MOM).

Fudge Brownies

These delicious and highly nutritious chocolate goodies are lovingly crafted by Leaf Kitchen Founder and Raw Food Chef, Asha Peri to give choco-loving kids a healthy boost.

A piece of these guilt-free bars consists of coconut, pili, sunflower, dates, carob, cacao, spirulina, malunggay, flaxs meal, and hemp protein.

6. Mulberry Juice

This is another nutritious juice that comes very handy for kids.

Proven as a medicine, Mulberry contains plentiful nutritious elements, such as minerals and vitamins, and can cure several health problems, including the flu, indigestion and constipation.

You can find this healthy juice at near the plant vendors.

7.  Multi-Grain Mixed Vegetable Siopao

If your child likes siopao, then they will like this multi-grain siopao stuffed with carrots, onions, mushrooms and bean sprouts.  Yum!!!

Other variants that your child will like is the Multi-Grain Mushroom Siopao, and Spinach Dumplings.

8. Goat’s Milk

Are you trying to wean your toddler off your breast?  Then maybe you can try to substitute your milk with fresh goat’s milk.

Goat’s milk has essential fatty acids, linoleic and arachnodonic acids, in addition to a higher proportion of short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids, stuff that are easier for our child’s intestinal enzymes to digest.

You can look find Elsie’s Goat’s Milk beside the sugar cane vendor.

9. Fresh Fruit Juices by Chlorophyll Manila

At the end of MOM is Chlorophyll Manila, a booth that sells an assortment of nutritious organic products including wheat grass, nuts, Himalayan sea salt, and an assortment of fresh fruit juices that children would definitely like.

Their kid-stopping juices are Blueberry, Guyabano, Avocado, Guava and Mixed Berries.

Let your kids take a swig off their samples and see what they’ll like.

10. Green Smoothies by Rawlicious

Do you want to ensure that your child is taking her daily dosage of greens?  Then try these healthy and naturally sweet drinks by Rawlicious.
