Heart Evangelista has reinvented herself many times over the course of her 16-year career in showbiz.
The actress-turned-artist recently shared some of her creations at a recent press conference promoting her upcoming exhibit in September 2016. Back in 2014, she took part in her first art exhibit at the Ayala museum and stunned the art world when all of her paintings sold out in just one hour.
It all began when she spilled some cheese on her orange Lizard Birkin. Fearing she had ruined it, she wanted to find a way to cover up the oil map that formed as a result of the stain.
“I saw Kim Kardashian was carrying a painted bag. And it was auctioned! I was like “Oh my God” that’s such an amazing way to cover up a stain'” recalls Heart. She then researched until she found the right ink, which she vows never to reveal.
She then began painting her bags and then shared it on social media. Comments started pouring in and so began what is now known as Love Marie Handpainted bags.

“I keep pushing it back. I have to make time. I’m turning 32 this February so I think I’ll get pregnant in January.”
It seems Heart has been keeping busy. But despite her hectic schedule, her acting and her art aren’t the only things she’s focusing on.
“I’m a wife now so everything’s scheduled. I even scheduled my pregnancy,” confided the stunning actress.

“I keep pushing it back. I have to make time. I’m turning 32 this February so I think I’ll get pregnant in January,” she said, laughing. “Now I’m on a strict diet so, you know, my body can go to a certain shape and that’s when I’ll get pregnant.”
As for her diet, it involves less rice, lots of fish like sinigang na bangus and lots of vegetables and vegetable seeds like quinoa.
And what does her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, think about having a baby?
“He doesn’t pressure me at all,” said Heart, adding that she’s the one who came up with the schedule. “Siya, anytime. In fact, I said what if I have a soap opera. You know, whatever comes first.
But there’s one thing she plans to do before getting pregnant. Find out what that is on the next page
Before she becomes a mom, however, there are lot of things left to tick off her bucket list.
“As much possible, before I get pregnant I really, really want to travel. I want to go around, grow, and see things because I’ve never really been this independent in my life. I’ve always been with my parents,” says Heart, adding that for most of the early years of her acting career, she really didn’t have much freedom. “Because of my hectic work schedule, I was only allowed to travel once a year for two weeks when I was younger.
“So, now I really want to travel. I really feel like I’m growing as a person and as an artist.”
“I hope I inspire women in my journey to becoming pregnant and after giving birth.”

Though she knows that after she indulges in wanderlust, motherhood is next up, she admits still feeling anxiety about it.
“I’m preparing to get pregnant and I’m scared,” she revealed. “But, I’m eating healthy, losing water weight to prepare. It’s my responsibility and my job to look good and be healthy. I hope I inspire women in my journey to becoming pregnant and after giving birth.”
Now that they’re putting the finishing touches on their “dream house”, Heart knows she has to eventually help with the move. “I don’t think it would be good if I was pregnant so I have to wait first and hopefully matapos na yung house.”
As for how many kids she and Chiz want to have, she said: “I think for now I’m good with one. I’m a very practical person. He has two already so kung idi-divide ko yung bahay ko, dun lang sa kung san kasya kami,” she said with a giggle.
The pregnancy rush isn’t purely about the age. “There are a lot ways now to get pregnant and to have a healthy baby,” said Heart. “I want to make sure that everything’s settled. I want to take my time.”
