Being in the public eye is challenging enough, but what if, on top of all of showbiz’ pressures, you had to go back to school and be a great mom at the same time? It wasn’t easy, but these celebrity moms proved it is possible to balance it all!
1. Sunshine Cruz
The 39-year-old mom of three managed to earn her degree in Psychology from Arellano University in April 2017. Having started working as an actress when she was in her teens back in 1992, her education had to take a back seat. But the determined working mom pursued her dream of graduating from college despite the demands of her professional and personal life, and she made it happen!

2. Jodi Sta. Maria
The actress and single mom is now pursuing a dream she put on hold for years. Before she fell in love with acting, her dream profession was to become a doctor. When her acting career took off when she was in her teens, she had to stop taking up medical biology in De La Salle University-Cavite. “Naging sobrang hirap iyong pagsabayin iyong pag-aaral at pag-aartista. It really took a toll on my health,” recounted Jodi in an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda.
Now, she’s returned to her studies, hoping to earn her degree in Psychology. “I’m very grateful na I was able to find a school na meron silang home study program kung saan, puwede kong ituloy ang pre-med school ko,” she told Philippine Star, referring to Southville International School and Colleges.

3. Giselle Toengi
The California-based TV host and former teen star now has two kids. When she rose to fame as a teen star in the 90s, she had to put her studies on hold. She graduated with honors from UCLA, where she earned a degree in communications.
“There’s no better culmination for me because I worked so hard going back to school, having two kids, it’s a lot of work. But it all seems worth it knowing at the very end, dala-dala ko yung flag ng Pilipinas,” she told ABS-CBN news.

4. Judy Ann Santos
The award winning TV and movie actress also has a flair for cooking! Though hers was a 4-month culinary course, it’s no less admirable because she truly pursued her passion even when she had taken on a new role as an adoptive mom to her eldest Yohan, who is now 12 years old. Upon completion of her course, she was awarded a silver medal for Basic Skills in Cooking and a gold medal for Advanced Skills at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies. Now a mom of three, Juday’s passion for food has spawned her very own cookbook and influenced her hubby Ryan to take up the same course. We’d love to be invited to their home for dinner!
