Bahay Tsinoy offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of the Chinese community in the Philippines. Located in the historic Intramuros, this museum’s exhibits include life-size dioramas and artifacts that tell the story of Chinese influence on Filipino culture. It’s an engaging way for kids to learn about cultural diversity and history.

Yuchengco Museum

Location: RCBC Plaza, Makati

International Museum Day free admission dates: May 17 and 18, 10 AM to 6 PM

Yuchengco Museum is a treasure trove of art and culture. Their galleries are brimming with diverse exhibits, from stunning paintings and intricate jewelry to thought-provoking installation art. Highlights include the retrospective of Burmese jewelry designer Wynn Wynn Ong, and Ryan Arbilo’s poignant photographs of overseas Filipino workers in France. Plus, you can marvel at works by National Artists for Visual Arts.

This year, they’re showcasing “Roots and Paradoxes: The Filipino Voices of Carlos Bulosan and Carlos Villa” and a collaboration with the Fernando Amorsolo Art Foundation, among others. It’s a fantastic way to introduce your kids to a wide range of artistic expressions and cultural narratives.

Ayala Museum

Location: Makati Avenue corner De La Rosa Street, Makati

Ayala Museum is pulling out all the stops with a free admission day that includes access to all their galleries. The “Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures in the Philippines” exhibition has an exciting update that you won’t want to miss. There’s also the “Arts and Crafts in Gold” workshop hosted by Googly Gooeys, which sounds like a blast for kids and adults alike.

Your family can explore exhibitions like “Ayala Museum: In Microcosm,” “Ceramics and Cultural Currency: Exchange of Pottery and Prestige,” and more. Plus, there will be educational videos and live arts and crafts workshops. It’s a wonderful mix of learning and fun activities for everyone.

AIMS Museo Maritimo
