We caught up with the Starstruck alum to find out how she’s been doing since taking a break from showbiz to focus on becoming a mom to her daughter with Pampi Lacson.
How does it feel now that Mimi will soon be turning 3?
Really happy because I am with her with every milestones she makes. But, it’s a bit sad because I don’t want her to grow up so fast. Feels like it was just yesterday that I held her in my arms.
What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned since becoming a mom?
That my mom is the coolest. (laughs) Being a mom myself taught me that my mom sacrificed a lot of things for me. Now I know what she meant when she told me “maiintindihan mo lahat ng ito ‘pag nagkaanak ka na”.

What’s the most rewarding thing about having a daughter?
This is hard. Hmmm. Everything.. The laughter we share. The memories we make. And every time she holds my face and looks into my eyes and tells me she loves me.

Tell us about Mimi? What are her interests? Is her personality more like yours or Pampi’s?
She’s great. She loves to eat, sing, and dance. Makulit sobra. And super sweet. (laughs) Definitely got it from me! Tama na yung magkamukha silang mag ama. Akin na lang yung iba.

Does she ever miss showbiz? Find out on the next page!
What is your biggest dream for your daughter?
Just to grow up a happy and healthy kid then become successful in any path she takes.
It’s so nice to see you bonding with Thirdy (Pampi’s son with ex, Jodi Sta. Maria). How is your relationship with Jodi?
I love the kid so it comes naturally. And about jodi. Everything is all good.

Your fans must miss seeing you active in showbiz. Do you ever miss being busy in movies and TV?
Sometimes. But for now I want to be with my family as much as I can. And, of course, I want to be with Mimi so much! Maybe when she’s a bit bigger.
Are you able to keep in touch with your friends from the industry?
Yeah, I do. I still talk to some of them. But it’s really hard especially because I don’t go out that much.
Any plans to return soon?
Maybe. (laughst) I want to fix myself first. I want to go back with a bang!
