James Yap and Michela Cazzola have finally decided on a name for their baby boy, and it’s the cutest portmanteau of their own names–Michael James. The couple made the announcement over the weekend during their basketball themed baby shower.
Michela also shared their baby birth plans, revealing that she will be giving birth to baby Michael here in the Philippines.
“I’ll give birth in the Philippines and my family is coming,” the Italian beauty said.
Michela also opened up about her pregnancy and the struggles that came with it, including her weight gain.
“Honestly, the biggest thing to get used to is the changes in my body. “My body has, like, tripled in size. I’ve always been so thin. But of course it comes with pregnancy. It’s beautiful,” she said.
Michela also admitted that, as a first-time mom, she had mixed emotions about her pregnancy, and it helped to have someone supportive by her side.
“It’s hard if you go through it alone, so you need someone with you. Of course, it’s a mixed feeling. You’re nervous because it’s [the] first time. But, I’m happy of course,” she also said.
James, on the other hand, is pure excitement.
“Siyempre masaya at excited na. Ito talaga hands-on ako kasi lalaki ito sa tabi ko. So, excited ako,” the basketball player said.
(Of course I am excited. I’ll be really hands-on because this will be a boy and he’ll be by my side. So I’m excited,” he said.
This is the third child for James; two from previous relationships, including his marriage with TV host Kris Aquino.

Basketball for the little one
The baby may yet be in his mother’s womb, but already, daddy James is keen on sharing his love for basketball with his unborn son.
The couple’s baby shower had a basketball theme, complete with mini jerseys/onesies, sports water bottles for the guests to take home, and basketball cupcakes.

Aside from the water bottles, guests also got to take home basketball-themed pillows, and desserts in jars.

James and Michela, along with their guests, certainly look like they had a swell time being silly.

In one of the photos, the dads can be seen being bottle-fed by their wives.
“We don’t like bottle feeding, we prefer breastfeeding,” James cheekily captioned the photo.

Baby comes first
“The priority is the baby,” Michela said when asked when they plan to get married.
“We need to focus on the baby first. He needs out attention,” James added.
“When the baby gets to walk, that’s the time to really do that. Besides, I really don’t want to get married if I’m pregnant. I respect those who are into that but, personally, I wanna get married when I’m ready. For now, the baby comes first,” Michela said.
It seems there will be no wedding bells ringing any time soon–at least until the baby is walking, as it seems the parents would like their child to participate in the ceremony.
In the meantime, congratulations to the lovely couple! We can’t wait to meet little Michael James!
