Though the 33-year old actor is currently single, it hasn't stopped his mom from wishing he'd settle down and start a family of his own soon.

In a recent interview with PEP for his Home Sweetie Home, where he plays a new dad, he was asked about his plans of having kids one day.

"Wala pa, wala e," he said. So, I’m taking my time."

He went on to explain how he feels extra pressure since it's his mom Aida who's been occasionally prodding him to start thinking about the future.

Pero naiintindihan naman niya," he said, adding that despite his mom being a devout Catholic, she's said she's okay with him not marrying if he prefers to have kids first.

But if you were to ask him, his ideal set-up would be to get married and then have kids.

Sana, siyempre hindi na rin tayo bumabata," said the award-winning actor, whose managed what few actors of his generation have: conquer both the indie and mainstream worlds.

In the same interview, he admitted that he's told co-star Toni Gonzaga that he sort of envies her and husband Paul Soriano for having a kid. But, her advice for him was not to rush.

"Sabi niya, ‘Huwag kang maghanap, darating na lang ‘yan nang kusa," he recalls her saying.

As for his past relationships, the most recent of which was with actress Angelica Panganiban, he says he had not really put too much pressure on it for it to lead to marriage.

"Well, nag-a-apply naman sa lahat, sa karamihan ng aspeto ng buhay, kung ipipilit mo, mas lalong hindi nangyayari," he said, adding that you can't really plan anything.

"Pero for now, parang gusto ko munang mag-concentrate sa mga bagay na gusto ko munang ma-achieve at magawa. So, siguro ini-enjoy ko lang muna yung availability ng sarili ko para sa aking mga adhikain," he said. "So, yun na lang muna. Kung mangyayari yun, mangyayari naman yun."
