It’s been a life-changing 7 months for actress Kylie Padilla. Four months after confirming her pregnancy in January 2017, she’s been busy preparing for motherhood. So far, she’s had heartwarming ultrasounds, a cute gender reveal, and a adorably themed baby shower!
Let’s take a look back at the 24-year-old beauty’s pregnancy journey so far!
In late 2016, she and ex-boyfriend Aljur Abrenica, who is also an actor, confirmed that they were indeed back together. A few months later, they shared another piece of happy news: they were going to be parents!
In a recent interview, Kylie expressed just how excited she is to be a mom, even sharing that she even plans to take classes!
But everything wasn’t purely smooth sailing, as Kylie shared in an Inquirer interview that the first trimester proved to be a challenge. At the time she was still working full time as part of the cast of GMA 7’s fantasy show Encantadia and she would have severe bouts of fatigue and morning sickness.
In an interview with Rappler, she shared just how adorable Aljur is as a soon-to-be dad and how it makes her fall in love with him more.
“Sobrang cute niya. Kasi he’s really making an effort at nakikita ko na yung pagiging father niya. For a woman to see that in their partner, mas nakaka-in love,” she said.
The couple revealed they had been engaged since October 2016.
She also shared that her excitement has been mingled with fears, which she believes is normal for moms, specifically when it comes to making decisions for her and for her baby.

In April 2017, when she was 6 months along, Kylie revealed they were having a boy! “I’ve dreamed of having a boy, and I have a boy so I’m actually quite happy about it,” she shared to GMA news.
Upon seeing her baby’s second ultrasound, she gushed that it was by far the “most memorable thing in her life.” “Yung nakita na yung hubog ng baby. Yung nakita na mukka niya, nakita na yung kamay niya. Hindi ko malaman…Sumabog yung puso ko! Marami nang memorable sa buhay, pero ang masasabi ko talaga, itong pagdating ng unico hijo ko.Ilang beses ko na sinabi ito. Pinangarap ko talaga, if ever magkakaanak ako, lalake yung first.”
Then, she had a stunning maternity shoot, where, much like her TV character she looked like an ethereal diwata. “I feel like a goddess carrying this kid in my womb,” she wrote on Instagram.
Most recently, her stepmom Mariel Rodriguez threw her a baby shower inspired by Kylie’s favorite book, The Little Prince. Her nearest and dearest friends and family from the industry, including her father, veteran action film star Robin Padilla were all in attendance.
Though she’s still considered a young actress with a career that’s about to peak, it’s inspiring how Kylie has embraced being a mom.
“This pregnancy has kept me really grounded, and has opened my mind into a lot of things. Hopefully, becoming a more well-rounded human being because of this pregnancy,” Kylie marveled in a Youtube video. “I feel like my womanhood has come into a complete circle.”

We have no doubt Kylie will be fully committed to motherhood, even more devoted as she is to her work.
“This is it. Very soon it will be real, you will be in my arms. It’s almost the end of my pregnancy journey and start of my official mothering journey. The fear has now become just a whisper and I’ve been mentally preparing myself for total submission and surrender to you. I always approached work like this. Giving it all, maybe too much,” she wrote on instagram. “Only recently did I realize that you are the most intricate and delicate work of art I could ever create. From your cells to your brain, to your heart and skin, the iris of your eyes and the sound of your voice. So you deserve more than sweat, time and lack of sleep. You deserve total submission of the soul.”
