In a television show, actress and mom Meryll Soriano admitted that she used drugs when she was younger. But now, she happily shares that she has been drug-free for over 10 years.

Meryll Soriano: “Matigas talaga ang ulo ko”
The 35-year-old actress and mother made a guest appearance on the ABS-CBN morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” last January 12.
She admitted that, due to a number of reasons, she rebelled and use drugs when she was younger.
The actress shares, “I think, nasa dugo ko talaga ang pagiging rebelde lang. I think, matigas talaga ang ulo ko.
“Nagrebelde rin ako kasi, I think, I struggled with show business, kasi I really wanted to go to school.
“I wanted to go abroad for college na hindi ko magawa, and I was already working [as an actress].
“I felt like I’ve been working, and I really wanted to go and have an education abroad, tapos parang hindi puwede.
“So, yun na, nag-start na ‘kong magrebelde.
“Hindi ko ever naramdaman yung hindi ako kilala.”
She also mentioned that since she started in showbiz at a very young age, she didn’t have a chance to experience what it was like to have a regular childhood.
“I think anybody who is going through a hard time should learn how to ask for help”
While the actress admitted to drug use during her younger years, she also shared that she has been sober for over 10 years.
“And ten years na ‘kong sober. Ten years na ‘kong clean.”
She also shared a lot of what she learned during that difficult time in her life.
“I think anybody who is going through a hard time should learn how to ask for help.
“I think that’s very, very important. Kasi yun ang nag-save sa ‘kin, e… when I asked for help… yung parang hind ko na kaya.
“Of course, yung faith mo din. Kasi nagising na lang ako isang araw, ta’s, ‘Lord, ayoko na.’
“And then I talked to my parents.”
