It’s refreshing to see exes get along but what’s even more special is when two people who share an ex form a lasting friendship. Meryll Soriano and Jerika Ejercito are living proof of this.
The two moms, who consider one another as family, go way back: they attended the same high school, O.B. Montessori in Greenhills, San Juan.
Last August 14, Meryll celebrated her son Eli’s 9th birthday with just a small party of friends she considers as family, including Jerika Ejercito and his son Isaiah.
“I treasure the parallelism of our lives. It is both funny and precious. I love you to the moon and back. And all I can say is… We got this babe.” Meryll wrote in the caption alongside this photo.

Jerika responded to the photo writing, “All the way baby” and reposted the same photo on her own Instagram account with the accompanying caption:
“To my living inspiration..I am always two steps behind you and right behind you I will always be. We got this!”
The simple party was held at Cops and Robbers, a restaurant near Xavier in San Juan.
Eli’s uncle, Jake Ejercito, was also there to celebrate with him.

Urbandub’s former frontman Gabby Alipe was also there with his wife, former Myx VJ search finalist Erika and son, Jakobi.

The adorable Isaiah even tried “his hand” at eating ice cream all on his own!

Andi Eigenmann’s daughter Ellie also joined in on the fun. Her mom, however, wasn’t able to make it.

Meryll shared a heartfelt greeting for her son on Instagram, enclosed with an excerpt from “Covenant of Honouring Children” by singer-songwriter and author Raffi Cavoukian:
We find these joys to be self evident: That all children are created whole, endowed with innate intelligence, with dignity and wonder, worthy of respect. The embodiment of life, liberty and happiness, children are original blessings, here to learn their own song. Every girl and boy is entitled to love, to dream and belong to a loving “village.” And to pursue a life of purpose.
We affirm our duty to nourish and nurture the young, to honour their caring ideals as the heart of being human…As guardians of their prosperity we honour the bountiful Earth whose diversity sustains us. Thus we pledge our love for generations to come.
