Mom shot dead in front of her 2 kids on their way to school

A 47-year-old mom was shot multiple times as she was bringing her two young kids to school in the Port Area of Manila. Details on this tragic story, here.

47-year-old Nora Acielo was going about her daily routine, which began with bringing her two kids to school, when her life ended.

According to a report by ABS-CBN news, Nora was shot in front of her two young kids at around 5:30 a.m. Her husband Joel told ABS-CBN that Nora walked their kids to school every day.

“Hindi ko alam kung anong dahilan nila. Bakit ganun? Binaril nila yung asawa ko…”

“Hindi ko alam kung anong dahilan nila. Bakit ganun? Binaril nila yung asawa ko.” said a distraught Joel in the interview. He also went on the describe the trauma experienced by their two kids, particularly their 7-year-old daughter who saw the gunman up close.

So far, no links to illegal drugs have been found. Her family and neighbors are in shock because Nora was kind and they could not imagine her having any connections with anything illegal.

However, one possible motive that police are looking into, based on her husband’s statement, is a business rivalry.

Before this incident, three more women with ties to illegal drugs were shot in the same area. Residents are now fearing for their safety, according to the ABS-CBN news report.

The CCTV which usually monitors the street was unfortunately out of order at the time of the shooting.
