We’re used to hearing various announcements over the airplane intercom: the pilot can urge us to fasten our seatbelts, remind us that smoking isn’t allowed, or when we’re nearing our destination.
But the passengers of American Airlines Flight 607 were delighted when the pilot made a different kind of announcement.
“I’d like to draw your attention to seat 29E,” he begins. “Where you will find Eric, who is traveling with his wife Lisa,” the pilot can be overheard saying in a video of the announcement. “While you didn’t strike it rich here in Las Vegas, you did hit the jackpot. Congratulations, you’re about to be a dad.”
Lisa Sadiwnyk’s husband, Eric, looks stunned and unable to react at first. Passengers start to applaud and Lisa exclaims a quick ‘thank you!’ towards the cockpit. As the video fades out, Eric is seen covering his face with one hand, as if to wipe away tears.

“I kept it a secret for a few days, which was absolute torture for me” Lisa Sadiwnyk told InsideEdition.com. “Luckily I’m not much of a drinker anyway, so it wasn’t difficult to hide.”
She assures InsideEdition.com that, although his reaction wasn’t immediate, he is just as overjoyed as she is that they are finally going to be parents.
“He’s super shy, but he started crying once the video cuts off,”she revealed. “It was actually a red-eye flight, and he said, ‘How am I supposed to sleep now?'”
How did she pull it off?
While they were waiting to board in Las Vegas, Lisa slipped the flight attendants a letter while Eric was at their boarding gate.
It read: “I’m pregnant, and I haven’t told my husband yet. Will you consider reading this after the safety briefing?”
They then returned the note and asked her to give the letter once they boarded, but to make sure it was crumpled to look like a piece of trash.
Lisa admits to being nervous at first but was pleasantly surprised that the pilot himself made the announcement.
She originally planned to make the announcement on their flight going to Las Vegas but noticed that the flight attendants were not as friendly.
She also almost announced it while they were on Hoover dam but ultimately, she decided to see her original plan through.
She even snuck away to buy Vegas-themed onesies at their hotel gift shop.
The mom-to-be, who is now 10-weeks pregnant, is also looking forward to pulling off a gender revealing surprise soon!
