Groin Pain during Pregnancy
Women undergo many different problems during pregnancy. Pain in the groin is one such uncomfortable problem. Pain in the lower abdomen is a normal symptom of pregnancy. As the uterus grows, it exerts an increasing pressure on the muscles and the ligaments around it. The muscles also stretch in order to give the uterus room to grow, also causing pain in the groin.
Pain in the groin, however, is not as common in pregnant women as back pains. Early in the pregnancy, pain in the groin region may be a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy. If you are experiencing pain in the groin region in the first or second trimester, it is best to get medical advice from your doctor.
