Pelvic Pressure During Pregnancy

Pelvic Pressure During Pregnancy

Pelvic Pressure During Pregnancy: Your abdomen begins to enlarge and the weight of the enlarged uterus starts creating pressure on the organs around it.

Pelvic Pressure During Pregnancy

As you enter your ninth month of pregnancy, you will begin to feel pain in your pelvic region and down through your thighs and legs. Your baby is now preparing for labor and is slowly making his way to nestle in your pelvis. Pelvic pain during pregnancy can be excruciating. The good news, however, is that when the baby has already “dropped” in the pelvic region, the uterus will already stop pressing into your lungs. Breathing now becomes a bit easier.

Elevating your hips and doing pelvic exercises such as pelvic tilts and double hip squeezes will help alleviate the pain. Taking a warm bath will do wonders in relieving pelvic pressure too. If you are lying still and the pain is unceasing, try to change your position to allow the baby to move and shift the pressure. Finally, a good prenatal massage by a qualified practitioner will also help ease the pain. If the pressure becomes unbearable, however, it is best to seek medical advice.
