A motorcycle rider was shot dead after what is being reported as a minor traffic altercation.
The victim, who was later on identified as Anthony Mendoza, was planning his wedding to his high school sweetheart, Marian Reginaldo.
In an interview with DZMM, Marian pleaded with the shooter to “give (them) peace and surrender.”
“Sumuko na siya. May pamilya siya. Alam niya kung gaano kasakit yung pinagdadaanan ko,” lamented Marian. “Patahimikin nya po kami, patahimikin din nya yung pinatay nya. Yun lang po yung panawagan ko. Makonsensya siya.”
The couple, who have been together since 2004, made a promise to finish their studies before settling down.
They were ready to build a life together after years of preparation. Anthony was working as an IT professional in Manila, while Marian took a job teaching in Singapore.
All their wedding preparations were done, Marian shared with DZMM, and they already bought a house of their own. Sadly, a senseless tragedy robbed them of their life together.

A photo of the suspect in the shooting, who has been identified as Poker player Fredison Atienza, has been circulated online, but he is still at large.
According to the victim’s brother, Michael, who was riding behind Anthony on the motorcycle, they were nearly hit by a speeding SUV along Quezon Avenue.
After they argued, the SUV’s driver whipped out a gun and shot Anthony in the head, killing him instantly.
A widespread police manhunt is now underway. Reginaldo shares she hopes that tragedies like her fiancé’s homicide will not happen to anyone else.
