The 38-year-old comedic actress has welcomed her first child with husband Trev Magallanes. Rufa Mae shared the happy news via instagram on February 17 by posting an adorable photo of her baby girl’s feet and attached hospital tag.
In the post, she also revealed their chosen name, Alexandria Athena.

“I’m not going to lie, I feel a little dizzy after seeing you come to life. Mabuhay anak, welcome to what is known as life.”
For his part, new dad Trev gushed on social media, writing: “I’m not going to lie, I feel a little dizzy after seeing you come to life. Mabuhay anak, welcome to what is known as life.”
The couple tied the knot in November 2016 after being together for less than a year. After the two met while Rufa Mae was on vacation in San Francisco, California, they started dating. In a previous interview with Boy Abunda, Rufa Mae revealed she knew he was “the one” and that they “instantly hit it off”.
News first broke that Rufa Mae was expecting when her close friend Grace Lee hinted at it in an instagram post back in August 2016.
She first addressed pregnancy rumors in August 2016, writing on Instagram: “Salamat po mga friends sa pag support sa next chapter ng pag kababae ko, sa pagiging pamilyadong buhay ko, excited ako kahit nag gain ako ng weight. Ok lang at least, panahon na para kalimutan ko muna [ang] sarili ko at ang haharapin ko ay buhay ilaw na ng tahanan.”
She later confirmed it in September. Two months after they tied the knot in November, the couple encountered a challenging time when Rufa Mae was rushed to the hospital eight months into her pregnancy.
“Totoo ang kasabihan na you are risking your life ‘pag preggy, natakot ako ninerbyos pero bandang Huli, I told myself, I have to be strong for my daughter,” she wrote on Instagram, crediting her husband for helping her recover quickly.
