Pumanaw na nitong March 26 si Dr. Sally Gatchalian, presidente ng Philippine Pediatric Society. Ito ay matapos niyang kapitan ng COVID-19.
Ang kanyang malapit na kapatid naman na si Ruby Rodriguez, isang sikat na TV host, ay nagbahagi ng kanyang pamamaalam sa doktora sa kanyang Instagram account.

Si Dr. Sally Gatchalian ay ang presidente ng Philippine Pediatric Society, isang organization kung saan nag-aaral ang mga gustong maging physician sa mga bata. Nagsisilbi rin siya bilang Assistant Director ng Research of Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM)
Kilala bilang isang masigasig, masipag at dedicated sa trabaho si Dr. Sally. Kaya naman marami ang nagulat at nalungkot sa balita na inanunsyo tungkol sa doktora.
Ayon kay Dr. Edsel Salvana, isang infectious disease specialist at molecular biologist, si Dr. Sally ay isang magaling na mentor at kaibigan.

Marami pa rin ang patuloy na naghahatid ng pakikiramay sa doktora. Isa na rin diyan si Dr. Kristy Murray, professor of paediatrics and director sa Center for Human Immunobiology sa Texas Children’s Hospital. Dagdag nito na si Dr. Sally ay isa sa mga tumulong sa pagpapatayo ng Philippines Coalition Against TB at patuloy na nilabanan ang mga sakit.
My dear friend and colleague died from COVID-19 today. Dr. Sally Gatchalian was a champion for children’s health. She helped create the Philippines Coalition Against TB & fought infectious diseases, saving so many lives. She is a hero. I am heartbroken. We love you, Sally.
Lubos namang nagdadalamhati ang sikat na noontime host na si Ruby Rodriguez dahil sa pagpanaw ng kanyang kapatid na si Dr. Sally. Sa kanyang Instagram account, nagbahagi ito masasayang alaala ng picture kasama ang doktora.

Si Dr. Sally Gatchalian ng Philippine Pediatric Society ay ang pang-apat na doctor na pumanaw dahil sa COVID-19.
Samantala, as of March 27, umakyat na sa 707 katao ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19 dito sa bansa. Ayon sa mga health experts, asahan na ang patuloy na pagdami ng kaso sa bansa dahil madami ang isinagawang test sa mga pasyenteng maaaring carrier ng virus.
Kung maaari, iwasan na ang paglabas ng bahay at palaging panatilihind ang kalinisan sa katawan at bahay.
