Sharon Cuneta is on a mission to regain her stardom as she prepares to make a comeback in the movie industry. As such, Sharon is working hard at getting back into shape.
In an interview by Reyma Buan-Deveza on ABS-CBN, Sharon confirmed that she has lost a whopping 36lbs since December.
How did she do it? A strict diet, Sharon revealed, helped her shed the pounds.
She revealed her secrets in Deveza’s report, and they are as follows:
“I allow myself to eat. Ang nangyari is nagpi-pika-pika na lang ako. Instead of three meals a day, iniiwasan ko ‘yung carbs. So walang carbs — ‘yung bread which is my favorite; rice, hindi na ako mahilig sa rice. So titikim ng ulam, masaya na ako,” Sharon said.
(“I eat small meals. Instead of three meals a day, I avoid carbs. So no carbs—bread that is my favourite; rice, I am no longer fond of rice. I just taste a bit of food and I am already happy.”)
“Then for some reason parang nawala ‘yung sweet tooth ko. So hindi na ako masyadong naghahanap ng sobrang tamis. Ang pinakamatamis na kinakain ko ay sago’t gulaman or almond jelly. Hindi na ‘yung cakes,” she said happily.
(“…my sweet tooth is gone. I crave for super sweet [food] that much anymore. The sweetest that I eat is sago and agar or almond jelly. No longer cakes.”)

Sharon also cited her husband’s campaign as one of the factors in her weight loss, as well as the stress brought about by losing so many loved ones lately.
Sharon, who will be a judge in TV music competition show The Voice Kids as a replacement of Sarah Geronimo, is preparing for her major movie comeback this year. Shooting is set to begin in August.
The megastar vowed to lose even more weight.
“I’m inspired because I’m working again. Tapos I miss wearing clothes that I really like to wear,” said Sharon.

She also excitedly revealed that there will be lots of surprises for her fans this year, including a movie, a show, and a music album.
“…excited na ako dahil may movie na, tapos may show na, tapos — sabihin ko na — may CD na. Saka iba pang surpresa this year (I’m excited because there’ll be a movie, a show, and — I’ll say it — a CD. And other surprises this year,” she said.
“Finally after so many years I will be doing a movie. Unfortunately di ko pa masabi with whom. Ang masasabi ko lang sa audience ay kumapit kayo (…I cannot say with whom. All I can say to the audience is hold on),” Sharon also said.
“When will I do it? When I’m 60? Fifty-five? I wasted so many years, so let’s do it now because I’m already excited. I miss shooting. TV is different from a movie,” Sharon also said.
