Kristine Joy Sailog was waiting outside a church with her mom in Biñan, Laguna when a stray bullet hit her, killing her instantly. She was 12 years old.
The bullets, which injured another woman identified as Rowena Flores in the vicinity, were intended for Allan Fernandez, a barangay official, who was also killed on the spot.
According to a report by ABS-CBN, Rowena is currently in the ICU and Allan was a known drug user who surrendered a few months ago, as part of the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Tokhang.
Speaking to ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, Kristine’s mom recounted how her daughter suddenly fell to the ground, bleeding from her side.

Her grieving father and mother cry out for justice, sharing with ABS-CBN how their “sweet and thoughtful” little girl had big dreams; these included buying a home for her family one day.
