One artistic dad is encouraging his son's creative streak by turning his doodles into reality

LOOK: Dad transforms son's drawings into "real" photos

London artist Tom Curtis is turning his 7-year-old son Dom's drawings into reality using Photoshop. The results are so strange and adorable that Dom's work has taken the Internet by storm (as of this writing, Curtis' Instagram account has over 52,000 followers). The captions, which are written in rhyme, are also a nice touch.

Curtis says that he hopes his Instagram account will also encourage other kids to tap into their creative juices.

"This isn’t just about Dom and [younger son] Al. There are loads of kids out there with a huge amount of talent,” he told The Huffington Post. "I think creativity is under threat a bit and kids need to be encouraged.”

1. Lion

"Don't be so silly - this isn't the sun!
It's clearly a sketch of a happy lion.
I've not drawn his body, instead just his head,
And coloured his mane in with yellow and red."

2. Seahorse

"A pretty good likeness, I'm sure you'll agree.
A seahorse I found in a book of the sea."

3. Dad

"Here's a drawing I've done of my Dad
I've drawn him just right so I hope he's not sad
Dad sometimes tries to grow a beard
It's mainly just bumfluff so looks a bit weird"

4. Butterfly

"Here is the lifecycle of a butterfly
Look on the right at that funny little guy
I saw him in the garden, just there on the ground
Although I think the arrows might be the wrong way round"

5. Flamingo

"From seeing this drawing you'll obviously know
That this is a picture of a pink flamingo"

6. Elephant

"Of all the creatures I've shown you before
The elephant is definitely my favourite to draw"

7. Sea lion

"You know what I draw always look real?
Well you might be surprised, but this isn't a seal
They're sea lions I think, not seals I'd say,
Their flippers are longer and their bodies less grey."

8. Rocket ship

"My brother Al wants to travel in space
So keeps drawing rockets all over the place"

9. Ferry

"Our holiday house was in France this year
We went on a ferry - you can see it just here
It had hundreds of windows as you can see
Well actually it had about 23"

10. Bunny

"It's a rabbit of course, although his ears aren't that long
If I'd drawn them longer, it would have been wrong"

11. Bust

"The museum nearby is a wonderful place
Too much to draw, so I just did this face"

12. Clown fish

"The city aquarium - that's where to go
To draw a real clownfish a bit like Nemo
It's sometimes too dark to see what lies beneath
But I drew him just right, except for his teeth"

13. Giraffe

"After drawing my lemur, I went back to the zoo
Can you tell which animal I then went and drew?
I know you might think that I'm having a laugh
Well I'm not because this is an actual giraffe"

14. ???

"I always draw things that I actually saw
But quite what this is, I'm not really sure"

15. Seagull

"It can be quite hard drawing seagulls in flight
But I think I've done this one, just about right"

16. Lemur

"At the zoo there are lots of creatures to draw
I love drawing zebras, but like tigers more
But this time I've chosen a lemur instead
The one with his face on the side of his head"

17. Penguin

"Here's a new drawing - take a look at this guy!
I'll give you a clue - he's a bird that can't fly"

18. Shark

"Here's a drawing (I've since thrown in the bin)
It's clearly a shark, but just look at that fin!
Is it a Reef Shark or perhaps a Great White?
One thing's for sure, I drew it just right."

19. Robot dinosaur

"You'll never believe what I've drawn this weekend
And I promise I saw it - it's not even pretend
I've never seen anything like it before
It's a huge flying robot dinosaur"

20. Sheep

"I went to the farm with my sketchbook and pens
I chose to draw sheep, not the cows or the hens"

21. Swan

"We went to the duck pond
There were swans everywhere
And two flying ducks
You can see them just there
Mum took a photo and later that night
Saw I'd been drawing the swan on the right"
