Toni Gonzaga, who is pregnant with her first child, was shocked after gaining 16 lbs.
The actress, in an article by Rose Garcia on PEP.ph, said her sudden weight gain as she entered her second trimester of pregnancy shocked her, though her fears of gaining too much baby weight were quelled by her doctor. Other details of Garcia’s interview are as follows.
Toni, who experienced bleeding in her first trimester, hopes her doctor will give her the go signal to resume her workout.
“My doctor has to check me again. Because I want to work out already. I bled during my first trimester,” the actress said in the vernacular.

The actress said she wants to try the La Maze method, which she will need training for, once her doctor signs off on it.

“Noong tumimbang ako, sumakit ang dibdib ko.” (When I weighed myself, my chest hurt)”, she joked about her weight gain, adding that she was surprised because she was only 108 lbs on her last weight check.
Her doctor also told her to expect to gain a pound each week during her third trimester.

Toni on child discipline
Toni wants to be a hands-on mom, and can already see herself as a disciplinarian.
“Gusto kong maging hands-on at feeling ko, magiging madisiplina ko. Lahat ng inalagaan ko, sobrang disiplina ko. Kay Alex, mga pinsan ko na pinalaki ko, palaging takot sa akin.”, she told the entertainment site.
(“I want to be hands-on, and I think I will be a disciplinarian. I have disciplined everyone whom I took care of. Alex, my cousins whom I raised, they are all scared of me.”)
“Sana madisiplina ko siya.” (“I hope to discipline him.”), she told PEP.ph referring to her unborn child.
“Gusto ko siyang palakihin kung paano ako pinalaki ng Mommy at Daddy, may takot sa magulang.”
(“I want to raise him the way mom and dad raised me, with a fear of one’s parents.”)
In the meantime, Toni is reading up on what to expect during birth and once the baby comes out.
