After giving birth four months ago, actress-host Toni Gonzaga is now back to work hosting ASAP and Pinoy Big Brother. In an interview with PEP, the breastfeeding mom opens up about she’s balancing it all.
“Nababalanse naman, okey naman kay Paul, supportive naman yun sa akin,” she said, adding that Paul is “the best partner ever” and a great, hands-on dad.
She also revealed that it seems like they have similar parenting styles. Both of them, Toni says, are disciplinarians.
According to Toni, their baby boy Seve—which is short for Severiano Elliott—is purely breastfed.
“Pure, exclusive…talagang effort,” said Toni.

Aside from hosting, Toni is also a mainstay on the sitcom Home Sweetie Home, where she portrays a mom. She also opened up about being able to relate more to her role now.
“Sobrang enjoy, kasi close to heart,” she said. “Takot nung una, pero ngayon mas comfortable na.”
It looks like Toni has fully embraced motherhood, though she admits in a recent interview that it was totally unexpected.
“It was really unplanned. Nung nalaman ko pa na pregnant ako, hindi ko pa alam ‘yung mararamdaman ko,” she confided to ABS-CBN news. “Ayaw ko pa nga kasi first time ko pa lang mae-enjoy si Paul na siya lang, kaming dalawa lang. Sabi ko i-experience muna namin ‘yung nakikita natin sa ibang couples na nagta-travel sila.”
She went on to recount how she felt when the pregnancy test turned out to be positive.
“Grabe nanghina ‘yung tuhod ko. Hindi ko pa ma-gets noon,” recalled the new mom. However, she’s accepted that God’s plan is higher than her own.
“You know what, ‘Many are plans in a man’s heart but it’s always God’s purpose that prevails’,” said the devout Christian. “Na-realize namin it’s not in our hands, pero plano talaga ng Diyos na ibigay last year.”
