Toni Gonzaga's unusual pregnancy craving

While most women have pregnancy food cravings, Toni Gonzaga says she only craves for one thing. Read on to find out what the actress' sole craving is

While most pregnant women experience food cravings, some have less conventional pregnancy quirks.Toni Gonzaga, who is pregnant with her first child, says she has no food cravings, but is constantly looking for her husband, Paul Soriano (seen below).

“Wala akong cravings sa (for) food, sa tao lang (just a person). Siya palagi yung hinahanap ko (I am always looking for him),” she told PEP.ph in an interview by Rose Garcia. Details of the interview are as follows.

Perhaps it is because Soriano has been an unwavering source of emotional support for the actress/TV host. Gonzaga says she has learned to appreciate her husband more  because of his supportive role during her first trimester of pregnancy.

“Alam mo, doon mo pala talaga maa-appreciate yung asawa mo (You know, that’s when you will really appreciate your husband),” Gonzaga said.

A Difficult First Trimester

The actress revealed that her first trimester was difficult, and it was her husband, Paul Soriano, who helped her cope with the physical discomforts and insecurities that are common during pregnancy.

Gonzaga revealed that her first trimester was far from comfortable. She had to deal with constant nausea, mood swings, emotional breakdowns, insecurities over her changing body, and the frustration of not being able to do everything that she used to to as regards her work load.

Gonzaga said that, sometimes, the simplest of things can make her cry, such as a baby commercial or a TV show.

“Parang luka-luka ka pala minsan kapag pregnant…Parang minsan, luka-luka na lang talaga ko (It’s like sometimes pregnant women are crazy. It’s like sometimes I am really crazy),” she said.

Soriano is also quick to reassure Gonzaga that, for him, she is still the most beautiful woman in the world.

The actress humorously compared herself to Jollibee because of her changing body shape.

“Kaya malaking tulong talaga ang asawa sa nagbubuntis…Kasi yung emotional support ang kailangang-kailangan mo more than anything (That’s why husbands are a big help during pregnancy. Because the emotional support is so imporant),” Gonzaga also said.

Baby gender

The couple still have no clue as to their baby’s gender.

According to Gonzaga, her doctor, who does not want to raise any false hopes, is careful about declaring the baby’s gender until they are more certain.

When asked for their preferred gender, Gonzaga said they have different preferences.

“Well, noong bata ako, pangarap ko noon na magkaroon ng kapatid na lalaki, kasi wala kaming lalaki (When I was a kid, I dreamed of having a baby brother because we don’t have a boy) ,” Gonzaga said.

“Si Paul naman, gusto ng babae, kasi limang lalaki sila. Kami naman, dalawang babae. (Paul wants a girl, because they [siblings] are all boys. We [siblings], on the other hand, are girls),” she said.
