LPG safety tips

LPG sure has made our lives more convenient. However, it can be very dangerous if we’re not responsible and if we don’t follow these important safety tips:

  • Always make sure that the LPG tank has the company seal and the safety cap intact. If you see that the cap has been tampered with, it’s best to return the tank to the supplier.
  • If you see any damage or potential leaks in the tank, immediately call the distributor so that they can send a mechanic to check the situation and assist you further. It’s best to avoid doing any self-repairs on LPG tanks as it can be very dangerous.
  • Make sure to turn off your LPG tanks using the regulator knob after use. Even if you turn off the stove burners, it’s just as important to turn off the main gas source to ensure that there are no accidental leaks.
  • Keep LPG tanks well away from any sources of heat, and be sure to keep it in a well-ventilated area in order to ensure that there’s no build-up of gas in case there’s a possible leak.
  • If you smell a leak, make sure to turn on all of the windows in your home and put out any open flames or anything that might start a fire. You should also avoid turning on any electrical switches as it can cause sparks which can start a fire.
