Yeng Constantino and husband Yan are considering adopting a baby

After nearly two years of marriage, the singer/songwriter and her husband are ready to start a family and adoption is something they've considered

Yeng Constantino has made Filipinos swoon with her pop/rock love songs, but her own personal love story is just as kilig-worthy. She tied the knot with Yan Asuncion on Valentine’s Day 2015.

In a recent interview with entertainment website PEP, Yeng shared their plan to have kids by the second wedding anniversary.

“Balak po namin, nung ikinasal kami, after two years, magbi-baby na,” shared the 28-year-old singer. “Pero sa mga nangyaring mga blessings sa career ko, naintindihan naman niya ako.Sabi ko, ‘Love, pangarap ko ‘to.’ Ngayong dumarating, nagbubukas yung mga pinto…Okey, wala namang problema.”

Yeng also shared that their plans to have a family are largely influenced by the trajectories of their career. Yan is the lead singer of an alternative band called Indios.

“Actually, we’re considering a lot of options na magkaroon ng family na hindi maapektuhan yung career,” said Yeng, adding that they were inititally planning on having two biological babies and then adopt a third child, but now they might be going about their plan in a different order.

“So, we’re considering na yung first namin, adopted. Yung susunod po namin, yung sa amin, dalawa,” said the singer.

However, there is no specific time frame as of now.

“Titingnan pa po namin. Gusto po namin talaga magka-baby,” explained Yeng, sharing how their Divas live World Tour in 2017 will be taking up a lot of time. “Sana po ma-bless po kami ng isang baby na mati-take namin sa family namin.”

If ever they decide to adopt, they will be in good company. Celebrities who have adopted even with biological kids are Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo as well as Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto—just to name a few.
