YOSHINOYA – Japan’s Famous Gyudon! It was in year 1899 when Yoshinoya was founded by Mr. Eikichi Matsuda and named it after his birthplace, Yoshino-Cho, Osaka.
The story began in a humble fish market located in Tokyo, Japan where he created the delicious recipe of a hundred-year old beef bowl or also known as the Gyudon (rice + beef). Yoshinoya expanded as soon as it got to the market since it offered affordable, delicious, and fast meals. It was one thing that made it favorable to hard-working fishermen and market visitors.
Throughout the years, it became one of the most in-demand fast-food chains in Japan with over a thousand outlets. Yoshinoya ventured out to other countries which include USA, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and, the Philippines.
It then became a privilege for the Philippines to offer the famous beef gyudon. Century Pacific Group under its retail arm, Yoshinoya Century Pacific, Inc., entered into Franchise Agreement with Yoshinoya International Co., Ltd and started its first store operation in December 2001.
Yoshinoya continues to gain popularity across the Philippines while offering different delicious meals from rice bowls, jumbo plates, bento, ramen, down to its side dishes, drinks, and desserts.
