Instead of toys, why not give your child the gift of amazing experiences?

4 min read

This holiday season, a lot of kids expect to receive toys as gifts from their parents as well as their ninongs and ninangs. However, letting your kids have memorable and amazing experiences can actually make them feel more fulfilled and happier!

Toys might be fun to play with for a couple of days, but nothing really beats having an amazing experience with mom and dad. It can be anything really, and it doesn’t even have to cost a lot of money. All you need is some imagination and a thirst for adventure!

Here are some great ideas to make sure that your little one has a lot of amazing experiences in their life!

Visit relatives you haven’t visited in a while

Visiting your relatives during the holidays is something that’s sure to make not just your kids happy, but also your relatives, especially those whom you haven’t visited in a while.

Reconnecting with your loved ones is a great way to strengthen family ties, and it also helps give your kids an idea of the family history as well as the amazing stories that your relatives have.

Go on an impromptu adventure!

Sometimes, you don’t even need a plan to have fun! Take your kids on an impromptu adventure without any itinerary and just figure things out as you go along.

A road trip with the family always makes for a great memory, and it’s one of those moments where the destination doesn’t really matter. All that matters is how much fun you have along the way!

A lot of museums have opened up in the Metro, and they’re a great way to teach your children about history, art, and culture. Museums are great for kids since it satisfies their curiosity and encourages them to learn more about the world around them.

It’s also an amazing way to make your children appreciate the value of learning and create lasting memories which they will be able to take with them the rest of their lives.

Another great destination would be the Ayala Museum which features not just dioramas and the usual museum fare, but they also have an amazing collection of one of a kind gold treasures of the Philippines!

Mastercard holders also get a discount when visiting the Ayala Museum since Make it Makati currently has a promotion with Mastercard.

Go on a staycation!

While it’s technically still a physical gift, a gift card is a great present to give your little one, and it’s also a great way to teach them how to spend their money wisely, plus it’s great for moms and dads who aren’t exactly sure what their kids want for Christmas, and it’s a pretty convenient gift to give your little one.

Getting your child a gift card for Christmas means that your child needs to make the most out of the gift card that you’ll be buying them and not just immediately spend it all on something that they like. It’s a great way to teach your children a lesson in finance, budgeting, and knowing the difference between their wants and their needs!
