5 Ways moms can boost their self-esteem after giving birth

Studies have shown that a lot of women experience a decline in their self-esteem right after pregnancy. Here a few ways for moms to boost their self-esteem!

According to a study from the Netherlands, a mother’s self-esteem sharply declines right after she gives birth. And it continues to drop up until their child is three years old. Most often than not, her self-esteem levels don’t go back to the way it was before giving birth.

That’s why it’s important for moms to do what they can in order to bring back their confidence and give their self-esteem a much-needed boost after they give birth.

It’s okay to focus on your personal appearance

Some moms feel that making time for themselves or focusing on their personal appearance is a waste of time, especially since they have a lot of new responsibilities once they have their baby.

The reality is that moms also need to pamper themselves and take the time to do their nails, go to the salon, or buy new clothes. Moms who look good also feel good about themselves, and it boosts their self-esteem.

Focus on your interests

You might be busy taking care of your newborn, but that doesn’t mean that you should completely forget about your hobbies and interests before you gave birth. Being passionate about your interests helps boost your self-esteem, gives you self-gratification, and also keeps you from getting burned out taking care of your child.

Some moms find that making crafts, blogging, or baking are very therapeutic and helps them deal with their stress.

Spend time with your friends

Spending time with your friends is important as a mom. Take the time to go out with your friends and bond with them. It’s important for moms to have some personal time that they can spend with other people since it helps keep them maintain their relationships and just have fun.

A right balance between spending time with your family and your friends is important when it comes to keeping your self-esteem up.

Go on date nights with your husband

For some couples, having a kid means spending less and less time with each other, and spending more time with their kid. While it’s important for moms and dads to take care of their child, it’s just as important for them to focus on their marriage.

Go out and have a romantic evening with your husband every so often. It’ll help rekindle the romance and boost the love in your marriage. Remember, that love is the reason why you chose to be with each other and start a family in the first place, so it’s important to make your marriage a priority.

Pamper yourself
