Want to increase your chances of conceiving? Add these to your diet!

Here's what various research believes you should eat if you want to increase your chances of getting pregnant!

On your quest to improving your fertility, you may have come across tips on how organically improve fertility. You also probably heard about claims that having sex twice in an hour could boost your chances of conceiving. Or perhaps you’ve concerned changing your sex positions and sleeping habits to improve your chances of getting pregnant?

While not all of these will work for all couples, it doesn’t hurt to keep trying and being open to new ways to boost fertility. After all, thanks to science, we’re constantly finding new ways to overcome hurdles, including infertility.

You don’t need to explore complicated medical procedures right off the bat. If you can’t seem to conceive, altering your diet can help. Here are foods to add to your diet that can boost your fertility today!

Complex carbohydrates

Pack your diet with good carbs, like fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans, while avoiding bad ones that are too sugary, like cakes, cookies, white bread, and rice.

Why? Our bodies digest good carbs slowly, helping maintain normal blood sugar and insulin. According to a recent study, having a high insulin level blocks the process of ovulation, making it more challenging to get fertile.

Unsaturated fats

Do you like snacking on french fries? You might want to break up with this habit if you want to increase fertility, says a recent study. Steer clear of certain type of margarine as well as baked goods, too. This is because they’re high in trans fats, which also inhibit ovulation.

Go for foods high in unsaturated fats like fish, avocado, and raw nuts!

Whole Milk

It’s important to drink at least two servings of whole milk daily. You can also increase your intake of yogurt, with is a full-fat dairy product! Avoid low-fat dairy, like sherbet or fat-free frozen yogurt.

Protein-rich foods

This doesn’t mean upping your meat intake, but going for plant-based protein like beans, nuts, seeds, and tofu. These foods, which are choc-ful of healthy fats, also help you cut back on the calories, keeping your weight down. It’s been found that maintaining a healthy body weight improves a woman’s chances of conceiving.

Caffeine

Take note: drink coffee and tea in moderation! Avoid overly sugary drinks like frappuccinos. You can even have alcohol, but don’t overdo it. Previous studies have found that caffeine and alcohol doesn’t have negative effects on fertility.

Multivitamins

Of course, making sure you are taking your vitamins can greatly improve your chances of conceiving. No matter what kind of multivitamins you normally take, just make sure you get at least 400 micrograms of folic acid and 40 to 80 milligrams of iron.

We hope these simple tips help you on your journey to becoming a mom!
