Detox juices and diet programs are all the rage these days. But not many people know that detox baths work just as well in calming and balancing out emotions as well as flushing out toxins from your body. In some cases, detox baths may even help you lose weight.

If you’re a busy parent who can’t find time for a relaxing spa day, there are other pampering alternatives to try: like these do-it-yourself detox bath recipes using ingredients that can be found in your own kitchen.

1. Seaweed + Epsom Salt

Adding epsom salt and seaweed to your hot bath helps “recreate” the experience of spending a long, luxurious day on the beach. Plus: the various vitamins, minerals, and nutrients found in seaweed and salts have been known to relieve stress, aches, pains, while ridding the body of toxins and inducing restful sleep.

2. Fresh Herbs + Baking Soda

Salts naturally possess minerals and nutrients like magnesium and sulfate, which are essential to detoxification and skin rejuvenation. Adding fresh herbs doesn’t only add fragrance to this recipe for a detox bath, they can also help reduce inflammation and promote relaxation.
