Mother fears that her kidnapped son was turned into child soldier by Maute group

Mother fears that her kidnapped son was turned into child soldier by Maute group

Rowhanisa Abdul Jabar fears that her son who was kidnapped in 2010 has now been turned into a child soldier by the Maute group.

Rowhanisa Abdul Jabar lost her son, Ram-Ram, 7 years ago, when he was kidnapped in Tondo, Manila. Since then, she has never stopped searching for her son. She even created a Facebook page in an attempt to find out about Ram-Ram’s whereabouts.

And just recently, Rowhanisa feels that she has finally found her son, but the problem is that she thinks he has been turned into a child soldier by the Maute group.

“Lukso ng dugo”

In a Facebook post, Rowhanisa shares, “Siya na nga ba ‘yan… kasi ako bilang isang ina, na nalayo nang almost 8 years ang anak, hindi ko na po makilala, except sa sinasabi nila na lukso ng dugo.”

Her son was kidnapped from their home in Tondo on July 4, 2010, his full name was Ram-ram Abdul Jabbar Cabugatan, and was also called “Azramie Mangondacan” in affidavits that she submitted when her son went missing.

Rowhanisa fears that if the child she saw on the photo is indeed her son, then he might be in grave danger, as he’s now a part of the terrorist group that waged war on the government and destroyed Marawi City, displacing over 600,000 residents.

She shares, “Sa murang edad niya, hindi dapat siya nagkakaganyan. Sana may magandang buhay siyang kinakaharap sa ngayon, kung hindi siya nahiwalay sa akin.”

She still hopes that she will be reunited with her son

Since her son was kidnapped, she kept on posting various photos of her son on the Facebook page that she created. She even went so far as to offer a 100,000 peso reward for anyone that can provide her information regarding her son’s whereabouts.

Once she posted a photo of her 3-year-old son and the Maute child soldier, her page started to get more views, and eventually made it to the headlines of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

In spite of everything that happened, and the fear that her son has been turned into a terrorist, she still hopes that someday, she will be reunited with her beloved son.

“Ang hirap hirap po talaga, ang ganitong sitwasyon na mawalan ka ng anak sa hindi maipaliwanag na dahilan. Muli po ako aasa na makita ko pa siya at makasama ko hanggang sa muli, Ramkoy!” She shares.
