Not everyone is given the opportunity to conceive and not every baby delivered is not given the opportunity to live with their family.

My husband and I are truly blessed to conceived our 1st child. It was July when my husband noticed the changes in my body but I was skeptical because I just had my menstruation a week before he noticed.

He got even discouraged by how hard I am to get pregnant since we have been really doing it purposely. Pero siyempre laban lang at hindi susuko and add on lang, someone in the church that we are attending also prayed for my womb to be fruitful. See? Prayers are powerful kaya huwag matakot magdasal!

Here, came August when we finally decided to take a pregnancy test, and ta-daaaaa… it is positive! We were speechless at first, but happy because knowing my case—had an ovarian cyst a few years back—we were thinking that it will be hard for me to be pregnant.

Indeed, we are blessed and grateful for the new gift of life! I am in my 4th month now and I just can’t thank God enough. Hindi ako maselan sa aking pagbubuntis and so excited sa paglabas ng aming anak.

Well, we still have 5 months to go and are so excited but we haven’t bought anything for our child yet as we are still waiting for the ultrasound in December.

As a pregnant 1st time mom-to-be, I am also wondering what is the gender of my baby and even dream of some fruits. As the old folk says, dreaming of fruits has hidden meaning on the gender of the baby in the womb.

Here are some of the fruits that I dream of and their meanings:

  • Banana – healthy, fair skin baby (socially, people thought of this dream as having a baby boy.)
  • Apple – to deliver a healthy baby boy.
  • Pineapple – deliver a baby boy.
  • Chocolate cake – socially people thought of this as the baby will be dark-skinned.

Only God and ultrasound know the gender of our baby. What important is, we enjoy our pregnancy journey and that we will deliver a healthy bouncing baby regardless of their gender.

Let us be thankful for the opportunity given to us and good luck with our pregnancy journeys! I hope this article or story inspires you.
